Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 20 mins
Total Time: 30 mins
Cuisine: Keto
Serves: 4 bagels

Ingredients

  1. 2 cups almond flour
  2. 2 tbsp cream cheese
  3. 2 large eggs
  4. 1 tbsp baking powder
  5. 1 tsp garlic powder
  6. 1 tsp onion powder
  7. 1/2 tsp salt
  8. 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine almond flour, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Whisk these dry ingredients together until well blended.
  3. Add cream cheese and eggs to the dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly using a spatula or electric mixer until a smooth, consistent dough forms.
  4. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions. Using your hands, roll each portion into a ball, then carefully shape each ball into a bagel ring by creating a hole in the center.
  5. Place the shaped bagels on the prepared parchment-lined baking sheet, ensuring they are evenly spaced.
  6. If desired, sprinkle sesame seeds over the top of each bagel, gently pressing them into the surface.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until the bagels are golden brown and firm to the touch.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Serve warm or at room temperature. These bagels can be sliced and toasted, and are perfect for sandwiches or with cream cheese.

Tips

  1. Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for the smoothest dough consistency.
  2. Use a silicone spatula or electric mixer to blend ingredients thoroughly, preventing any lumps in the dough.
  3. When shaping bagels, wet your hands slightly to prevent the dough from sticking.
  4. For extra flavor, experiment with different seed toppings like everything bagel seasoning or poppy seeds.
  5. Allow bagels to cool completely before storing to maintain their crisp exterior and soft interior.
  6. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 2 weeks.
  7. For best texture, toast the bagels lightly before serving to enhance their crispness.
  8. If the dough seems too wet, add a bit more almond flour; if too dry, add a little more cream cheese.
